1. Celebrate Ministry this month!
October is Month of the Ministry-Celebrate Ministry in your congregation! Resource materials developed by the Pension Fund can be found at: Celebrate Ministry

2. Youth Summit - Nov. 16-18
Registration Deadline extended to Oct. 25th. For event and housing registration forms, go to: http://www.cciwdi sciples.org/ Mail your Registration forms with payment to the Regional Office. Housing registrations should already be made with the Decatur Conference Center & Hotel.

The Summit Worship Planning Committee is asking for help from each group attending Summit: "As a part of the Summit worship experience, we will be sharing at the Lord's Table. We are asking each group that is participating at Summit to bring a loaf of bread that will be used for communion. We hope that the bread is home baked using white or whole wheat flour. It can be any shape but needs to be left whole, NOT SLICED. The bread will be collected and taken to the communion table as a part of the Friday night worship."

New Workshop for Clergy at Grace Institute- Living a Life Worthy of Your Calling-Nov. 9 What to do and not do to be a more effective pastor. Save with early registration until October 26. For more information, click.

5. Share your Miracle Day Pictures
Share your Miracle Day Pictures-Do you have some great pictures from Miracle Day that you would like to share with the Region?  You can send them electronically to bethz@cciwdisciples.org or mail a CD with the pictures to the Regional office, 1011 N Main St., Bloomington, IL..

6. Stewardship Discussion - Nov. 17
Stewardship Discussion-Rhodes Thompson, noted Disciples author and educator, will lead a discussion on stewardship based upon his book Stewards Shaped By Grace - The Church's Gift to a Troubled World, at First Christian Church, Bloomington, IL on Saturday November 17, 2007.  The program begins at 9:00 am and will conclude at noon.  The program is available to the public. So that we can plan appropriately please let us know you plan to attend by emailing: office@blmfcc.org.  For further information contact martin.sallee@verizon.net or revmcbride@blmfcc.org.

8. Time to Start Planning the Christmas Offering
Time to start planning the Christmas Offering-We're starting to hear commercials about the Christmas season! You may not have started your shopping but it is the season to plan for the Christmas Offering for Regional Ministry. New resources are now available to help you in planning: New Resources

You'll find information about getting started as well as an entire planning guide with a schedule, some worship materials and minutes for mission. Soon there will be posters, bulletin inserts and other materials. A special note for this year - all offering envelopes for the Christmas Offering will be sent from the Regional Office instead of from Indianapolis. 9. Regional Prayer Conccerns
Regional Prayer Concerns-Arden D. Keen, retired Disciples Pastor and member of Canton First Christian Church, passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007. Services will be at 11 am Thursday, Oct. 25, at the First Christian Church, 215 W Elm St., Canton, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home, 209 E Chestnut St., Canton, IL. Please keep his family in your prayers.
