Retiring Eureka Christian Church minister to speak at

Eureka College baccalaureate

 

            The Rev. Richard Richards, who will retire as senior minister at Eureka
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) May 1, will give the sermon at the Eureka
College
baccalaureate at 6:30 p.m. May 2 in Becker Auditorium in the Cerf
College
Center
. The event is free and open to th e public.

            Richards’ sermon titled “You’re It!” will “reflect on what makes a rewarding
career from the perspective of one who is passing on the mantle of work to the
next generation,” he said.

            Richards was senior minister at Eureka Christian Church for five years.
He formerly was a minister at churches in Pennsylvania and Kentucky , and he
also worked in campus ministry and the long-term care industry.

            Richards is treasurer of Eureka Rotary Club, chairman of the strategic
planning committee of the Communities of Maple Lawn board and a member
of Eureka Ministerial Association.
