Gifts For All Generations

A 3-year Capital Campaign

seeking over and above gifts

in Illinois & Wisconsin

Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

As the people of God, we have been so richly blessed by all who have come before us and established our congregations. Now, it's our chance not only to give back but to "give forward" to the coming generations. We can do that by joining with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Illinois & Wisconsin in a 3-year capital campaign to raise $2,250,000 to benefit a variety of "units" within the life of our denomination and our CCIW Region.

STARTING NEW CHURCHES
$1,006,000

In Africa, $50,000 will construct a new church building in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, for continuation of their vital, downtown ministry.

Here's what those campaign dollars are doing.....Read on!

This project provides employment for 10 church members and 4 community members. The building attracts the attention of everyone who passes by on the busy road where it sits, serving as a witness to God's work from Christians around the world.

For more about the building read on....

Rev. Arao Litsure, secretary for the Mozambique Synod of the United Congregational Church of Southern Africa, our partner church in Mozambique, writes us with this information about the center in Maputo.

I want to update you on the multipurpose center and flats for renting in Maputo which is partly funded by Global Ministries. The construction is in its final stages. The ground floor has a hall for multipurpose use with a capacity to accommodate around 700 people, and a conference hall with the capacity of 100 people.

On top of the conference hall, we have three flats (small apartments). On top of the big hall we have two floors with a total of 14 bedrooms for accommodation, three meeting rooms and two kitchenettes. We are now preparing to put up the last roof and are very excited with the project.

Our campaign dollars are helping provide much needed help to the people of Maputo. This includes such things as classes in language, cooking, sewing, nutrition, fellowship as well as Bible Studies and spiritual growth.
