Gifts For All Generations

A 3-year Capital Campaign

seeking over and above gifts

in Illinois & Wisconsin

Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

As the people of God, we have been so richly blessed by all who have come before us and established our congregations. Now, it's our chance not only to give back but to "give forward" to the coming generations. We can do that by joining with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Illinois & Wisconsin in a 3-year capital campaign to raise $2,250,000 to benefit a variety of "units" within the life of our denomination and our CCIW Region.

NEW LIFE

RESOURCES FOR EXISTING CHURCHES-$480,000

Churches in Turn-Around and Redevelopment

$350,000 has been set aside to help churches of the CCIW Region who are in redevelopment situations.

We value the life of each local congregation and the work they do every day to remain vital, healthy and growing. Congregations of the Illinois & Wisconsin region may apply for grants from these funds to help develop new programs or redirect/revitalize their ministries. These investments in the church today will bear the fruit of vitality for years to come.

The New Church Ministry committee of the Christian Church in Illinois & Wisconsin is in the process of developing these grants to congregations of the CCIW Region who are in the turn-around and redevelopment processes. Many of the clergy are attending "The Lazarus Project" course. Led by Beth Dobyns and Burley Herrin, this course is designed to assist clergy and lay leaders in working through the issues that keep a church "stuck" and get "unstuck" to become a more vital and healthy congregation.

Another resource available to congregations in turn-around and redevelopment is the Natural Church Development program created by Christian Swartz. All the CCIW Assistant Regional Ministers have been trained to lead this process of redevelopment and growth.

For more information about the CCIW New Church Committee, contact Scott Woolridge at the Regional office.
