Generations

We have been so richly blessed by all who have come before us. Now it’s our chance, not only to give back, but to “give forward” to the coming generations.

Starting New Churches------------------------------------------$1,006,000

God calls us to new life.  As population areas in our Region change and grow, we are called to start new Disciples congregations.  Our New Church Establishment Committee will use $900,000 to help in starting three to five new churches in the next 10 years.  All of the new church models require the spiritual and financial support of the whole Region.
In the wider church, $56,000 will provide specialized training to help equip pastor-developers and spouses as they start new congregations.

In Africa, $50,000 will construct a new church building in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, for continuation of their vital, downtown ministry.

New Life - Resources for Existing Churches-------------------$480,000

The primary focus of the Regional church is to nourish exiting congregations.  Some of our congregations experience difficulties, where the neighborhood or the church has changed.  Congregations may apply for grants from these funds to develop new programs or redirect and revitalize their ministry.  These investments in the church today, totaling $350,000 will bear the fruit of vitality for years to come.
$100,000 will be used to provide training opportunities for "equipping the saints", our local leadership.  Some of these funds will strengthen churches in crisis situations.
The Disciples of Christ Historical Society would benefit by $30,000 given for technological upgrades to make their web-site and vast research materials available and more accessible to internet users.
