Gifts For All Generations
A 3-year Capital Campaign
seeking over and above gifts
in Illinois & Wisconsin
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) |
 |
| As the people of God, we have been so richly
blessed by all who have come before us and established our congregations.
Now, it's our chance not only to give back but to "give forward"
to the coming generations. We can do that by joining with the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ) in Illinois & Wisconsin in a 3-year
capital campaign to raise $2,250,000 to benefit a variety of
"units" within the life of our denomination and our CCIW Region.

Established in 1855, Eureka was the first college in the
state and third in the nation to admit men and women on an equal basis.
Throughout its long history, Eureka College has been affiliated with the
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and continues as an institution of
arts and sciences, emphasizing a Christian-oriented liberal education. The
College has never wavered from this purpose. |
| Located on a wooded 112 acres campus, Eureka College has 24
buildings, an open-air theatre, arboretum and facilities for football,
baseball, softball, tennis and swimming. It is located 30 miles from the
two metropolitan centers of Peoria and Bloomington-Normal.
The five divisions of education include: Education, Fine and Performing
Arts, Humanities, Science and Mathematics and Social Science and Business. |
Among the activities encouraged by the College is
involvement and interaction through music, theatre, student government and
athletics. At the center of the Eureka experience is the development of
values that will help its graduates contribute to society in roles of
leadership and service. Many of Eureka's alumni have been successful in
education, business, management, the arts and community services. The most
famous alumni is Ronald Reagan, Class of 1932, who went on to become
President of the United States of America. |
| $100,000 from the capital campaign has been
designated toward restoration of the Eureka College Chapel. These efforts
will make the Chapel more accessible and energy efficient. The Chapel is
one of two buildings on the campus listed on the National Register of
Historic Places. For years the building was used as the traditional
gathering place of the campus community. Today the second floor houses the
Raymond F. McAllister Hall, where community worship, musical performances
and other cultural events are held. |
