Creative Ideas Net Paris Youth Minister

Most congregations raise capital funds for building improvements.  The dream at First Christian in Paris, Illinois was to add a new minister.  Rather than suffer with years of deficit budgets or wait until the budget was raised, the leaders of the church proposed a capital campaign to provide the seed money for a new ministry position.

As a part of the Gifts for All Generations campaign, Disciples in Paris decided to conduct a campaign that included $50,000 for a new youth ministry position and $25,000 for the Regional capital campaign.  They were so confident of success that they started planning the campaign on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 and convened their search committee two days later, on Thursday, January 18.  And the good news is - their youth minister started on October 1. Other congregations, like United Christian Church in Country Club Hills, are following the inspiration of First Christian in Paris - it's contagious!

Churches focused on God's will and asking for the resources to do that will are accomplishing great things!  To see how your church might do something creative and faithful, call Scott Woolridge or Dana Worrell at 309-828-6293.
