Gifts For All Generations

A 3-year Capital Campaign

seeking over and above gifts

in Illinois & Wisconsin

Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

As the people of God, we have been so richly blessed by all who have come before us and established our congregations. Now, it's our chance not only to give back but to "give forward" to the coming generations. We can do that by joining with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Illinois & Wisconsin in a 3-year capital campaign to raise $2,250,000 to benefit a variety of "units" within the life of our denomination and our CCIW Region.

Ministries with Youth,
the Disabled and Seniors
$439,000

Meet Mark, Karena, Amy and Kermit! Who would have guessed that a simple soup label would make life much easier for persons with disabilities. But that's just what has happened.

Thanks to the CCIW Region, Woodhaven Development Center has received our Campbell Soup labels that have helped purchase Kermit, their van #4. It takes 1,500,000 labels and $14,000 to make a van handicap accessible. Your dollars and soup have made that possible for all the Woodhaven residents.

Karen says...."I can't wait to show Kermit to my friends at work. I named him Kermit because he is green."

"The van is really cool" says Mark who will utilize the van to take trips and participate in activities along with Amy and Karena.

The van is purchased with labels and bottle tops from Campbell soups, Prego and Swanson's products. We receive them at the CCIW Regional office, taking note of who has sent them, then forward them on to Woodhaven. At Regional Assembly 2002, the CCIW Region turned in 12,292 labels. It takes $14,000 to convert a van with a lift that stores on the inside of the van to prevent increased wear. This makes life much easier for disabled individuals and provides them with a better qualify of living, not to mention all the opportunities to become more independent. Thanks to all of you who contribute those labels.

For more information about the work that NBA Woodhaven does, contact V. Paul Ratcliffe, Director of Development at Woodhaven, 1405 Hathman Place, Columbia, MO 65201.
