Mission stories
Trip planning
Celebrations of churches - Need to improve at telling our story - Church stories of
100 words of what we have done and plan to do this year.
Global mission region
Contact was made with Bob Shebeck - the form is attached to the minutes for review.
Committee wishes to move forward in support of the regional vision.
Missionary partnerships
Committee and web site want to support and celebrate individual church relationships as
they are developed.
Intend to add a Regional option - Teresa will travel to Central America in May with the
opportunity to meet several missionaries. We will then discuss starting a long term
relationship where we can learn from partners and offer two way support of God's church.
Global Mission Conference - planning is underway for a Fall conference that will
include:
Day retreat of discernment
World Cafe' - 4-6 guided questions
Mission partner participate
Global Ministries participation - contact made and preliminary acceptance
Invitation letter to MMI is being drafted and information will be sent to
churches when the date is set.
Opportunities
Glen Oak CC desires to become Mission station - encourage them to contact DHM
Response Team Training - long range goal with WOC
Vision - Denomination is at the heart teachers - how translate that into action for children
and teaching
Outreach / mission opportunities and plans: 2011 and beyond
Rushville CC is planning a trip to Oklahoma city
Pekin/IL Valley Cluster is looking at developing a trip to Mungeli, India in 2011 or 2012.
Work week for Camp Walter Scott, weekly volunteers.
Moline First CC is planning a trip to Israel June 13-25, 2011 - 11 people
Carthage First CC - hometown miracles
Stewardship
Lakeland Cluster follow-up is March 13
Working to have individual conversations with congregations as size affects
stewardship options for the practical application.

Committee Assignments
Mark will email term rotation asking for commitments
Jane will submit an article for CCIW News requesting individual churches
mission/outreach/service stories
Teresa will get the MMI list updated and to Beth Z for the website
Teresa and Mark will draft a letter to the MMI's concerning their support
of the Fall Global Mission Event.
Next Meeting: May 23 conference call at 7:00 pm to discuss Teresa's trip and
potential partners.
